These apples are like candy! They disappear in a couple of days.
A dehydrator is one of the best purchases I’ve made for my kitchen. But if you don’t have one don’t let that stop you from trying this recipe. Use your oven on the lowest setting, usually around 170-200 and check the apples every couple hours. Flip them at least once. Very worth the effort!
5 honey crisp apples
1. Peel the apples. Slice about ¼ inch thick. 8-9 slices per apple. Any thinner and you should dehydrate the apples for a couple hours less to ensure they are still pliable.
2. Remove the cores on each slice with a piping tip, spoon or knife.
3. Add to the racks of your dehydrator in a single layer. Dehydrate at 135 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 hours.
4. Add to a container and sprinkle with cinnamon, shake to distribute and enjoy!
*dry out the peels as well, they can be ground up and added to smoothies, oatmeal or sprinkled on granola!
